Romero's Remarks: Don't sit down in a casino, and watch for flying dice

Casinos generate a ton of offbeat stories, but few see print. Good thing your faithful reporter keeps track. In a Las Vegas section in the Denver Post, a doctor from New York said that sitting at the tables or slots is a "risk factor" for blood clots in the legs. He advises players never to be glued to a seat. "Spend 10 minutes an hour walking around," he says. Can you imagine a slot player leaving a hot machine, or a BJ player abandoning the table just as he starts to get even? Other advice from the doctor included, "Be a gracious loser" and "Beware of flying dice." How in the hell did we ever get by before modern medicine?
